Sherren Sandy is the new Special Events Manager for Atlanta Ballet. She works closely within the company’s Development team, partnering with the Marketing, Production and Artistic teams to successfully strategize and execute the Ballet’s signature events throughout the season. She serves as the Ballet’s primary liaison for all volunteer planning committees as well as the Corps de Ballet Guild. She also handles logistics for all Ballet donor parties and receptions.
With more than eight years working for non-profit arts organizations, Sherren has organized and facilitated the execution of more than 500 events ranging from wedding receptions, private and public functions to exhibitions openings, black tie dinners, annual fundraisers and more. Her “grace under pressure” work philosophy has aided in her successful planning of events ranging in size from 25 to 4,000. Her strong work ethic and excellence in providing the ultimate guest experience helped her go from Special Events Coordinator to the Assistant Director of Member & Guest Relations at the Flint Institute of Arts (Michigan’s second largest art museum). She has planned events around exhibitions such as Chihuly, Gee’s Bend Quilters, Tiffany, Toulouse-Lautrec, The Art of Video Games, Winfred Rembert, Jerry Pinkney and collections from Elliot & Kimberly Perry and Arthur Primas. Lectures have included Platon, Lino Tagliapietra, Directors of the Metropolitan Museum, Detroit Institute of Arts and the Toledo Museum of Art.
Sherren graduated with honors from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Magazine Journalism with a minor in Music Business. Sherren is a visual arts & performing arts enthusiast with 12+ years dance experience. She enjoys traveling, sports, music and spending time with family and friends. (Return to Core Board Members Page)
